چکیده
A key challenge in the development of materials for applications fields opto- and nanoelectronics, catalysis, separation, energy conversion is ability to fabricate 3D inorganic semiconductive nanostructures a precisely-controlled cost-effective manner. This work describes fabrication nanostructured TiO2 monoliths by coating ultraporous cross-linked cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) aerogel templates with layers controlled thickness via atomic layer deposition (ALD). Following calcination, resulting hollow networks form thinnest self-supporting structure (7 nm) fabricated directly on conductive substrate. The CNC-templated ALD–TiO2 electrodes are applied toward photoelectrochemical water splitting. results show that as thin 15 nm produces maximum splitting efficiency, savings reduced time.

Cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) aerogels are coated with thin conformal layers of Al2O3 using atomic layer deposition to form hybrid organic/inorganic nanocomposites. Electron probe microanalysis and scanning electron microscopy analysis indicated the Al2O3 penetrated more than 1500 lm into the aerogel for extended precursor pulse and exposure/purge times. The measured profile of coated fiber radiu...

Aerogels refer to a new class of materials holding air in their structure. They are highly porous solids having a large inner surface area. They are extremely light, low heat conductive, and high sound absorbent materials. Therefore, aerogels have excellent performance in applications such as heat insulators, particle filters, particle trappers, and catalyst carriers 1 . Aerogels are prepared s...

Aerogels have numerous applications due to their high surface area and low densities. However, creating aerogels from a large variety of materials has remained an outstanding challenge. Here, we report a new methodology to enable aerogel production with a wide range of materials. The method is based on the assembly of anisotropic nano-objects (one-dimensional (1D) nanotubes, nanowires, or two-d...

Nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC) from wood is an interesting material constituent of high strength and high aspect ratio, which easily forms networks through interfibril secondary bonding including hydrogen bonds. This has been exploited in preparation of new materials, which extend the range of properties for existing cellulosic materials. The objective is to explore processing-structure and st...
